UAV Airframe Design Engineer (m/f)

Our client is an innovative air technology company developing advanced, intelligent flight and control solutions. To support the growth of its R&D activities in Luxembourg, the company is looking to strengthen its engineering team with an Airframe Design Engineer position.
This role focuses on delivering robust, production-ready airframe designs, from early concept through prototyping, testing and industrialization.
Position
- Lead the development of fixed-wing airframe structures, from early concept and sizing through detailed CAD design, prototyping, flight-test iterations and production-ready documentation
- Design composite structures including sandwich panels, inserts, hard points and bonded interfaces, as well as selected metallic components where required
- Define structural loads and design cases (e.g. maneuver/gust, launch and recovery, landing, transport, vibration, thermal)
- Perform structural substantiation and drive continuous design improvements
- Support prototype manufacturing, including tooling and mold concepts, layup strategies, assembly processes, finishing, and repairability considerations
- Manage suppliers and external partners (tooling, composites shops, machining), including technical oversight and acceptance of deliverables
- Contribute to test readiness activities, structural inspections, and failure or anomaly investigations
Profile
- At least 5 years experience in airframe or structural design for aircraft or advanced airborne systems, with strong exposure to composite structures
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment focused on scalability and high-volume production
- Proven experience with CAD-tools, composite structural design, FEA tools, and taking designs from concept through production
- Professional fluency in English is mandatory
